heart of Bluff Country between Our 200-acre property is nicely appointed with natural beauty and wildlife. Located on-site is Rivers' Bend, our 18-hole golf course facility, a full restaurant and bar with on-site catering, a 172-site campground and a 43-bed hostel. Passing right through the property are the Root River State Trail, a 60-mile paved bike trail and more than a mile of the Root River, a designated trout stream. This all adds up to world-class trout fishing, biking, canoeing, golf, camping and a ton of other outdoor activities available right on the property. What We Offer At A

A Little More about the Property: The Old Barn Resort has as little or as much as you would like! Tucked away in a scenic Southeastern Minnesota valley, you'll find the National Historic site of the Allis Barn. Built in 1884-85 and rebuilt 1988-90, the Barn is the centerpiece of the property. Our campground has 172 uniquely tiered campsites that offer everyone a view. There are 130 sites 30'x60' with water and 30/50 amp electric service (57 have sewer). 42 sites are suitable for tents. A 43-bed hostel is another affordable favorite for accommodations. Our hostel is four separate rooms accommodating 2 to 16 persons per room and is great for groups or individuals. All our rates include use of our three season indoor/outdoor heated pool. Reservations for weekends are a must. "Minnesota's most scenic" Root River State Trail is connected to our site offering 60+ miles of blacktop that winds through woods and rivers for bikers, hikers and roller bladders. Other unique activities include Amish communities, natural caves, theaters, museums and beautiful scenery and wildlife. Canoeing, tubing or fishing the river are also very popular. Canoe, tube and bike rentals are available at the resort. A mile of the Root River passes through the property and is an excellent designated trout stream. Golf anyone?! Our 18-Hole, par 70 golf course offers 6,000 yards of challenging terrain. The second nine was opened May 2005 to the delight of locals and guests alike. Everyone seems to enjoy the scenic beauty surrounding the comfortable course on the front nine and the more challenging holes on the back nine. During or after a hard day of vacationing, golfing, etc. enjoy our on-site restaurant and bar which serves lunch and dinner daily during the season and features great sandwiches, appetizers and desserts along with some specialties like rotisserie chicken and ribs, pork and beef brisket smoked right here. We make most everything from scratch including our buns, soups, sauces and rubs. So come on in hungry and leave happy and full! For your convenience, a snack store, laundry facilities, take a book/leave a book library and a video and game room are on-site. Our 200-acre property is a great place to vacation by yourself or with all your friends. Come and enjoy what we have to share!
