The Old
Barn Resort **NOTICE - we no longer allow
you to bring in your own wood for campfires due to the Ash Borer, Elm
Disease, etc. Some says there's nothing better than sitting by the campfire and talking to friends or being lulled to sleep by coyotes, crickets, frogs and whippoorwills. The Old Barn Resort has earned a reputation since 1990 for a great place to camp with friends and family. The on-site activities are plentiful to lure anyone into being as active as they want to be. We understand that sometimes that just means sitting in a lawn chair with your favorite refreshing beverage. We could also tell you that this area naturally doesn't have many mosquitoes, but you won't believe us anyway until you experience it for yourself. Go ahead, bring your bug spray with. You'll have plenty left to take back home with you when you go camping somewhere else! That's if you ever want to go camping anywhere else again! Choose from over 170 uniquely tiered sites for a week or weekend outdoors. Open and shaded tent sites are available for those who like things just a little rustic. For campers who enjoy more convenience, about 130 of our sites have water and 30 or 50 amp electrical service. Approximately 57 of these sites have sewer hookups as well. Three restroom buildings throughout the campground provide showers and flush toilets within easy walking distance from any site. Remember the great thing about our campground is it's attached to a 200 acre property that includes an 18-hole golf course, driving range, 44-Bed Hostel, Restaurant and Bar (serving lunch and dinner daily and now made from scratch breakfast items and pastries on weekends - Mother's Day through Labor Day) in addition to the river, pool, bike trails, etc.
Camping Season: Our campground is open April 1st to November 1st. The outside restroom buildings are usually opened April 15th until after the 3rd weekend in October. Temperatures can get a little cool on the ends of the season, so call or email ahead of time if you are concerned about facilities. Lot's of people find our season longer than most campgrounds and wonder about why we are open so soon or stay open so late. Camping season around here goes along with other seasons. Trout fishing season starts in mid-April as does turkey hunting. For other sporting activities, our 18-hole golf course is usually open by mid-April and the bike trail is usually cleared of snow and ice so bikers, walkers and roller bladders are kicking the winter blues goodbye by stretching their legs and lungs with cool spring air. Fall camping is phenomenal with all the colorful beauty to take in as people are still enjoying the golf course, bike trail or maybe a late season canoe ride and deer archery season opens in mid-September and fall turkey season is in mid-October. Our indoor heated pool is even open by May 1st through 3rd weekend in October. So, don't hesitate to break out the camping gear before Memorial Day or keep it out past Labor Day - once you try spring or fall camping you'll find you enjoy it as much or more than the summer. You might even find one of our local town celebrations in the spring or fall that you can make your own annual celebration.
Camping Rates & Site Specifics:
