The Old Barn Resort **NOTICE - we no longer allow
you to bring in your own wood for campfires due to the Ash Borer Would you like to stay here but camping isn’t your thing? Try our hostel! These three bunkhouse-style rooms and one semi-private room in the lower part of the barn range in size from two single beds up to 16 bunk beds. This option is perfect whether you are alone or with a group. We have several groups of visitors, families for example, where some people camp and others stay inside. This is a nice way for everyone in the group to have the accommodations they like and still be together on the property. Restroom and shower facilities are just down the hall (women's has 5 showers, 6 toilets and 2 sinks for example). A commons room with television and a kitchenette area makes this a great selection for your accommodations. The kitchenette has a microwave, coffee pot, toaster, sink, misc. dishes/utensils and several outlets to use for electric griddles, crock pots, etc. Of course, you can always forget cooking and come to our on-site restaurant and bar that serves lunch and dinner daily (We also serve breakfast items on Saturdays and Sundays from Mother's Day through Labor Day) and let our wait staff allow you to feel like you're really on vacation! Our Hostel is available from April to Mid November. Hostel guests are welcome to use all resort facilities just as camper guests, such as the pool, sand volleyball, basketball, etc. The atmosphere of the hostel is unique as it is modeled after European hostels. The barn itself is unique because of the original limestone foundation and several of the unique features of the barn itself (grain chutes, wagon scales, etc.) have been preserved and are still very visible in the commons area of the hostel. In a way, it's kind of like camping indoors without having to bring all the equipment. We've even created a bonfire pit for you to use because we know you'll want to sit outside and enjoy the evening air once you realize that mosquitoes are naturally rare in these parts. This way you can enjoy the nightly chorus of coyotes, crickets, frogs and whippoorwills. You'll never believe that there are so many stars. At daybreak, you'll want to leave time to enjoy Rivers' Bend, our own 18-hole golf course or rent a bike, canoe or inner tube and enjoy the property around the resort or venture into one of the nearby quaint towns.
