Is the campground open year-round?
No, the campground is not open all year. Weather permitting the campground can be open as early as March, but tends to be delayed until April. The Old Barn Resort campground usually closes mid-late October, again weather permitting. We do our best to keep the water on as long as we can. When is check-in and check-out?
Campground: Check-In is after 1 PM. Check-Out is by Noon.
Hostel: Check-In is after 1 PM. Check-Out is by 10 AM.
Is early check-in or late check-out available?
Please call or check at the Office for your site’s availability. The Old Barn Resort will do its best to accommodate site requests, but there are no guarantees.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations made 2 weeks prior to reservation require an $8 processing fee. Cancellations made after 2 weeks prior to reservation result in forfeiting the first night's deposit.
Regarding Holiday Reservations: Cancellations made prior to 1 month before reservation require an $8 processing fee. Cancellations made within 1 month of reservation result in forfeiting the first night's deposit.
What is the camper/RV/tent policy?
Limit one household per site. Limit one RV/Camper like unit per site. One additional tent is permitted on sites for members currently living at household that made initial reservation. Otherwise additional site must be reserved.
Limit one household per tent sites. There is a two tent maximum on tent sites. More than two tents require more than one site.
Eight person maximum per site.
How old do you have to be to rent a campsite or a hostel bed/room?
You must be 21 years old to rent a campsite or a hostel bed/room.
Are pets allowed?
No pets allowed inside the Restaurant, Bar, and/or Hostel. Within the Campground, pets must always be supervised and kept on a leash not to exceed 6 feet. They cannot pose a disturbance or danger to other campers. Owners are expected to clean up after their pets.
Are there tables and grills?
There are picnic tables and fire rings at each site throughout the Campground. Please do not move any of the tables or fire rings. Only charcoal or wood should be burned in the fire grill. Campfires are not to exceed one foot high.
Are alcoholic beverages allowed?
Alcoholic beverages are permitted, for those who are 21 or older.
Are there group rates?
Only for youth groups and scout troops. Please contact reservations prior to your visit. 507-467-2512.
Are discounts accepted?
Active and retired military personnel receive a 10% discount. Military ID is required.

What is there to know about the campsites?
There are multiple types of sites: tenting sites, partial hook-up, full hook-up, and pull-through sites. We permit one household per site. An additional tent for minor dependents (under age 18, living at household) will be permitted with prior approval from the Office. Learn more about the campsites (link to Campsites page)
What is there to know about the Hostel?
Choose between the Family Room, two bunkhouse-style rooms and the Milkhouse. There are shared convenient restroom facilities. View

Sheets, blankets and pillows are provided at each bed.
