EXPLORE
There are two scenic state bike trails in Southeast Minnesota. The Root River State Trail and the Harmony-Preston Valley State Trail. Each connects the Root River Trail Towns. This 60-mile paved trail network meanders along the Root River amid 300-foot bluffs. Access the trail directly at multiple entry points located on our Resort property. Preston and Lanesboro are about 5 miles from the Old barn Campground.
ROOT RIVER BIKE TRAIL
As guests of the Resort, you have free access to our pool. Rain or shine, you can enjoy. Stairs entrance for your convenience. Our goal each year is to open the pool in-and-around the first weekend of May and keep it open through mid-October.
THE POOL
Rivers Bend is a beautiful par 70 golf course at the Old Barn Resort. It follows the Root River and Watson Creek, and accuracy is key due to challenging tee shots from bluffs and well-protected greens for approach shots. Golfers of all skill levels will enjoy playing this picturesque course with two signature holes - Hole 10, a peninsula par 3, and Hole 16, a long par 5 with a bluff wall and trees from tee to green.

Park and never leave the Old Barn Resort. Various launch and exit points directly on property. Purchase tubes from our Campground store. Simply use our air station to inflate and enjoy your float on the South Branch of the Root River in Southeast Minnesota.

We’re located in Minnesota's Trout Capitol, Preston, MN. Come trout fish the Driftless. Old Barn Resort is located directly on the South Branch of the Root River in southeast Minnesota. Arguably one of Minnesota’s best trout streams. There are enough trout streams in Southeast Minnesota that you can’t fish them all.
